The Chrysler Diagnostic Application is a data-driven application. The diagrams below help illustrate the types of setups that can be used with the Chrysler Diagnostic Application. The StarMOBILE devic e, CAN cardX, and the Vector XL family of devices are pass-thru devices supported by the CDA. When running the application on a PC, a vehicle communication device (commonly referred to as a ‘pass-thru’ device) is also need ed since the PC itself does not have the hardware necessary to communicate with a vehicle. The Chrysler Diagnostic Application can run directly on the StarSCAN device or on a PC. The final phase released on July 31 st, 2007 contained support for Vector hardware and added advanced diagnostic features to the application. The second phase released on April 30 th, 2007 added a few features found on the EDT2 that were not present in the first phase. The first phase released on January 31 st, 2007 focused on essential support for UDS protocol. Each phase of development added more diagnostic features to the application. The Chrysler Diagnostic Application (CDA) replaces the EDT2, both the PC and StarSCAN versions.
